Travel for everyone
Travel Options for All
Dream big. Dream amazing. Make your travel dreams a reality — no matter your needs.
Children, adult dependents and seniors may not fit in cookie-cutter solutions. As you age, your needs may have changed. Perhaps you need oxygen, a scooter, lift devices, or dialysis. Vacation has seemed out of the question — but there are options.
Mobility Aids Available
Wheelchairs
Pushed or self-propelled, often collapsible, most fit through standard cabin doors.
Transport/Companion Chairs
For individuals who cannot walk or have great difficulty walking; cannot be self-propelled.
Scooters
3–4 wheel models, popular for those who cannot walk long distances. Bariatric chairs require an accessible cabin.
Power Chairs
Joystick-operated, recommended only for those who have used one prior. Require use of an accessible cabin.
Walkers & Rollators
Add stability and confidence. Rollators provide a temporary seat for short rests.
Patient Lifts
6-point lifts enable an individual to be lifted and transferred safely.
Special Needs & Exceptional Care
For parents of children on the autism spectrum, Down syndrome or similar exceptional needs, there are no magic answers — but there are options. Autism on the Seas (AotS) offers qualified respite care. Some resorts and tour companies are adding ASL guides. There are ships and options for peritoneal dialysis patients and self-administered hemodialysis. Braille menus and assistive listening devices can be arranged.
Accessible Cruise Options
The cruise industry has done much to ensure accessible travel. There are cruise lines equipped with special lifts on tenders to enable you to enjoy excursions. Braille menus, assistive listening devices, and respite care during a cruise are all possible. While the ADA is specifically American legislation, over 140 countries have laws to protect the rights of individuals.
